Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Band 6
About the role:
We are seeking a full-time Community Occupational Therapist to join our team in supporting adult social care across Staffordshire, covering areas including Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock and south Staffordshire.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team to support adults in their own homes, providing assistance to enable our service users to remain as independent as possible.
Nexxus Care is a unique company, wholly owned by Staffordshire County Council, aiming to deliver high-quality care across Staffordshire. We focus on delivering services around people, not tasks or processes. Our services cater to vulnerable adults in the community.
Our reablement team delivers a reablement program across Staffordshire, offering individuals up to six weeks of support to regain independence. We adopt a 'do with' approach, empowering service users rather than doing everything for them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Conduct assessments to identify service user needs and develop personalized goals and detailed plans.
* Provide therapeutic interventions to improve quality of life.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure comprehensive care.
* Educate clients, families, and caregivers on adaptive technology, equipment, and assistive technology to promote safety and independence.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation.
* Ensure regulatory standards are met.
* Work closely with an established team, including Operational Lead, Registered Manager, Care Coordinator, Senior Support Workers, and Support Workers.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have experience working within community and residential settings, with knowledge of moving and handling people, specialist equipment, and assistive technology.
Requirements:
* Masters degree in occupational therapy.
* Registration with HCPC is essential.
* Experience working in the community is essential; residential setting is desirable.
* Strong communication skills.
* Interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently as part of a team.
* Commitment to provide person-centered care with compassion and empathy.
