Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Portfolio Cost Analysis and Reporting Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial team to support our SSEN Transmission business. SSEN Transmission is at the heart of the just transition to net zero in the UK. In the coming years, our network will be pivotal in connecting and transporting the power needed to decarbonise the UK's electricity network and in doing so power the UK's net-zero and energy security ambitions. Our business is rapidly growing, to deliver the largest investment package that Scotland's electricity system has ever seen, with a projected investment programme of over £20bn in the next 10 years. This role will support the delivery of this ambitious investment programme. The role will be responsible for all Portfolio Cost Analysis and Reporting activities within our Networks Transmission business. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with advanced analytical skills and a deep understanding of cost management processes within a commercial environment. To successfully operate within a regulated business environment, we are required to monitor, control, analyse and report on all aspects of Cost across the portfolio - key responsibilities include: Champion advanced data analytics and reporting across the portfolio - this includes areas such as Portfolio Cost Reporting and Phasing, linkage of Cost and Programme data, Commodities, Trend Analysis, Accruals, Risk, etc. Leading on all Portfolio Cost Analysis and Reporting activities - this includes policies, procedures, reporting and analytics. Leveraging data and industry trends/benchmarks to validate data and improve accuracy. Providing leadership and direction for Portfolio Cost Analysis and Reporting activities along with maintaining and advancing relationships with stakeholders - ensuring alignment with P&C, Finance, Delivery, Project Services, etc. Advance and refine strategic objectives within the Portfolio Cost Analysis and Reporting area - striving to provide the optimum service to stakeholders. Develop and enhance current systems and processes to ensure efficiency and consistency. Along with leading continuous improvement activities within the business - identifying and developing innovative methods for improving processes and techniques. What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: Demonstrate experience and advanced competency in cost control, data analytics and reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with an ability to liaise with all levels of the business. Demonstrate experience and advanced competency in digital tools such as Power BI, Excel, PowerApps and Analytics Software. Experience in developing and maintaining industry specific construction metrics; using them to identify and narrate problems. Proficient in interpreting datasets and deriving actionable insights. Regulated industry experience and knowledge of commodity markets and their influence on project costs (preferred).
