The Role Due to our continued success here at Fortem, we are delighted to confirm that we are currently seeking an experienced Roofing biased Site Manager to join our team in Birmingham. The Customer You will be part of one of Fortem's largest Social Housing contracts, Birmingham City Council. This is an expanding £50m Repairs & Maintenance, Capital Works and Retrofit contract and the largest social housing contract in Europe. We are responsible for over 22,500 properties in the Birmingham area including low, medium and a significant number of high-rise blocks. This is a fast paced, focused and dedicated contract which we have been re-awarded 3 times and we are very proud to be able to support this exceptional client. Duties and Responsibilities To have read, understood and comply with Company Policies and Procedures at all times. Ensure that Company Health & Safety Policies and procedures are strictly adhered to and work closely with Health & Safety Managers and Advisors Maintain and produce, on request, up-to-date Health & Safety records Ensure all Environmental and Waste Management Policies are adhered to Ensure that all staff, sub-contractors and visitors to the site are appropriately inducted Fully comply with the Company's Customer Satisfaction Policy and Procedures Ensure all directly employed personnel work within the required specification and adhere to general Company Policies Ensure that procedures and controls laid down by the Company are fully implemented by all site personnel Motivate, support and manage directly employed site staff. Provide training, coaching, appraisal and support as required to improve the performance of directly employed site staff Ensure site presentation is maintained at the correct standard at all times. Organise regular site meetings and pre-plan and ensure efficient usage of all resources What you will need Essential: Experience of work planning/project works Experience of working on New Build housing / Construction projects GCSE English & Maths or equivalent Scaffold inspection qualification Level 4 qualification or higher (NVQ4 or HNC) NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds trade qualification SMSTS and CSCS card Understanding of project commercial processes and working as part of a project team Excellent understanding of refurbishment of traditional & non-traditional housing stock IT literate and good working knowledge of MS Project Excellent communication skills Strong leadership and dispute resolution skills Previous experience of supervising teams First Aid at Work Environmental awareness 'Can do' attitude Proactive Professional approach with high standards Motivational leader Desirable: Experience with modular construction CIOB or Construction related membership Knowledge of working with different contracts JCT/NEC Quality assurance Temporary works knowledge Experience of PDA use Benefits Competitive salary based on experience with profit related bonus Motor Expenditure Allowance (£3,500).
