The post holder will contribute to efficient capacity and flow through the Trust. The position is part of the Site Management Team and will primarily focus on the transfer of patients around the Trust under the direction of the Clinical Site Manager.
The position involves frequent long periods of standing and walking and there is frequent requirement to exert moderate physical effort for short periods during a shift.
There can be exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances, which require a high degree of tact, empathy, integrity and strict adherence to relevant Trust policies and procedures.
Routinely communicate in a professional and courteous manner with wide range of people and via a variety of methods, i.e. face to face, over the phone and via the internal radio system with colleagues, other staff members, patients, visitors, the general public and representatives from external agencies / organisations.
Recognise and respond to communication barriers as they arise, i.e., cultural or language differences, physical or mental special needs, age (young children, elderly, or frail patients). Maintain an appropriate level of tact, patience and empathy, particularly during contentious situations where people may be distressed, verbally abusive or unpredictable at times; maintaining communication to a manner that will neither offend nor antagonise.
