We are looking for a Projects and Partnership Manager to join our Community Engagement Team to help deliver impactful projects and programmes that make a sustainable difference. The Role: This role is central to BCU’s Public and Community Engagement strategy, ensuring that our projects build trust, empower communities, and drive meaningful change. Reporting to the Head of Public and Community Engagement, you will lead community initiatives, manage partnerships, and support the development and management of our Community Ambassadors programme. You will work closely with students, staff, local organisations, community groups and civic partners to co-create solutions that align with BCU’s role as an anchor institution. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and manage community projects, ensuring alignment with BCU’s engagement strategy. Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders such as businesses, civic organisations, and community groups. Manage and support the Community Ambassadors and Partners initiatives, supporting grassroots leadership and skills development working with our internal academics and staff to amplify knowledge in action. Work within the university to ensure that community initiatives such as the East Birmingham Student Movement are successful. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet agreed objectives. Identify and manage risks, ensuring quality and impact are maintained. Facilitate collaboration between students, staff, and external partners to create sustainable, community-led solutions. Evaluate project performance, track impact, and make recommendations for improvement. Support the integration of community projects with the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF). Develop and implement a social media strategy to enhance engagement and visibility using current platforms and technology. Contribute to reviews, audits, and reporting to ensure projects align with BCU’s long-term goals. Key Skills & Experience: Essential: Experience in managing community-focused projects and partnerships. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate teams. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to manage timelines and project risks. Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including businesses, civic organisations, and community groups. Able to use social media and software that helps communicate to stakeholders both external and internal. Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2) and impact evaluation. Desirable: Experience working in higher education or public engagement. Familiarity with the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and community impact tracking. Ability to use digital tools to enhance community engagement. Support the delivery of external events with stakeholders. What’s in it for you?
