Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey with our paediatric pharmacy service? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Specialist Paediatric Nephrology Pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Southampton Children's Hospital!

Job responsibilities
As a Specialist Paediatric Nephrology Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in providing expert pharmaceutical care to both in-patient and out-patient paediatric nephrology patients. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Attending multidisciplinary ward rounds.
2. Developing evidence-based treatment and shared care guidelines with specialist consultants.
3. Overseeing the use of high-cost drugs within nephrology, coordinating the setup and use of specialist medicines, and managing medication supply via homecare companies or outpatients.
4. Opportunities to develop a pharmacist prescriber role within the paediatric nephrology team.
5. Educating and supporting patients, families, and other carers about the medications, their importance, and supporting concordance with medication regimens.
6. Teaching pharmacists, students, and members of the multidisciplinary team.
7. Active participation in the paediatric pharmacy team.
8. Engaging in audit and research opportunities.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
* Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
* Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
* Can demonstrate Advanced Stage 1 competencies in the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework in relation to medical or surgical patients.
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Sound knowledge of clinical pharmacy services acquired while working within a suitable specialty.
* Experience of audit and evaluative work.
* Teaching and tutoring experience.
* Experience of supervising others.
* Experience of implementing change and change management.
* Development and implementation of guidelines and procedures.
* MSc in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
* Can demonstrate Advanced Stage 2 or Mastery competencies in the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework in relation to medical or surgical patients.
* Leadership qualification or experience.
* Sound understanding of healthcare priorities and political agendas.
* Training in medicines information.
* Experience of managing others.

Salary: £53,755 to £60,504 a year (pro rata)
