Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Heage, Derbyshire / Harlow, Essex

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance + Private Healthcare + Bonus + 6% Pension (increases 1% every 3 years) + Phone/Laptop + 26 days holiday and BH (increases 1 day every 3 years)
Glenigans recently reported this business as a Top 10 Contractor in the UK, with a £1bn turnover group. This vacancy is for an interesting division of the business that has a turnover of £80m in some highly profitable sectors.
The business is split into Minor and Major Works departments, currently achieving a turnover of £70m while working across various sectors including education, fit-out, retail, industrial, leisure, hospitality, and healthcare throughout the country.
They invest heavily in their commercial departments across the group. This office has 3 Surveyors and a Senior Surveyor. Your role will initially involve shadowing the Senior Surveyor, focusing on new-build leisure centres for David Lloyds.
The Role
Supported by our Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
1. Assist in the preparation, processing, and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.
2. Assist in the development of the procurement programme.
3. Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts for designated projects.
4. Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the Client/Client's representative.
5. Prepare monthly valuation reports.
6. Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time.
7. Value and authorise payments to sub-contractors.
8. Liaise with Contract Managers to establish project specifications and requirements.
9. Attend and contribute to meetings with colleagues and/or Clients/Customers, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
10. Monitor contract progress, assess, and report any changes that may affect project costs and/or timelines.
11. Assist in controlling contract budgets.
