About the School
Northampton International Academy is a local school with a global vision and this is at the very core of our curriculum offer. Every school in the East Midlands Academy Trust (EMAT) is committed to providing the highest standard of education so that all children are supported to be the best that they can be. Transformation is in the very fabric of our building, having been transformed from the derelict and disused Royal Mail sorting office into a state-of-the-art educational facility. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with key stage 3 learners accessing the specialist facilities on a rotational basis. The Role
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and creative Deputy Curriculum Leader of English, to join our growing English department at Northampton International Academy. An ambitious and innovative leader will thrive in our unique environment and will be offered plentiful leadership opportunities for progression. As a Deputy Curriculum Leader, you will possess a passion for raising achievement and have an aptitude for overcoming barriers to learning. You will be an excellent team player and be able to inspire and lead others around you.
General Roles and Responsibilities:
• To help to build, communicate and implement a shared vision for the academy
• Model the vision and values in everyday work and practice (DNA of NIA)
• Promotion the use of appropriate new technologies to achieve excellence
• Maintain a consistent and continuous focus on pupils’ enjoyment and achievement in the academy
• Promote a culture and ethos of challenge and support where all pupils can achieve success, stretch their knowledge and skills and become engaged in their own learning
• Demonstrate and articulate high expectations and contribute to ensuring that every student has a broad and rich curriculum to meet his or her needs
• Demonstrate the principles and practices of effective learning and teaching
