Role Definition
The Human Resources Apprentice role provides a comprehensive, high-quality and responsive customer-focused service to colleagues across the employee life cycle. They support the business on all specialist and technical HR queries, as well as general queries, policies and procedures.
The postholder successfully administers all processes that underpin HR infrastructure, provide first line advice and guidance, and oversee transactional input in relation to people change processes.
Responsibilities
* Support a range of related activities across the HR service (e.g., providing first-line HR advice and guidance on people issues, building positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external third parties, escalating as appropriate).
* Provide administrative across the HR team on a wide range of tasks, projects and processes.
* Assist with financial processes including raising purchase orders and processing invoices with precision and awareness.
* Use communication skills to understand and advise others effectively to assist in the completion of tasks in line with SLAs.
* Apply practical HR experience to identify, analyse, and resolve complex problems, in line with processes and procedures.
* Provide advice and support, responding to queries.
* Work independently within standardised routines.
* Deliver results for through technical proficiency and drive continuous improvements in HR processes, policies, and procedures.
* Contribute to the performance of technical functions within the HR Team.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential:
* Competent literacy and numeracy skills evidenced through academic and/or vocational attainments
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications
* High accuracy and attention to detail
* Understanding the importance of security and confidentiality of personal and other data
* Able to complete vocational training – Level 2/3 Business Administration to apprenticeship standard
* Customer service focused approach
Desirable :
* Completion of level 2 Business Administration or relevant experience
* Work experience in an office or similar environment
* Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads and anticipate any action needed.
