The Software Technical Sales Specialist plays a critical role in driving sales by leveraging technical expertise to engage with potential and existing customers. This role involves understanding customer needs, presenting tailored software solutions, and guiding prospects through the sales process. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with sales acumen to effectively communicate the value of our software products. Key Responsibilities : Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify potential customers. Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to showcase the software's features and benefits. o Understand customer requirements and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs. Technical Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the company’s software products, including functionality, architecture, and integration capabilities. o Provide technical guidance and support during the sales process, including answering technical queries and addressing concerns. Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and respond to RFPs/RFIs with detailed information. Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor. Participate in client meetings, workshops, and consultations to understand their business challenges and propose appropriate solutions. Provide ongoing technical support and ensure customer satisfaction during the pre- and post-sales phases. Collaboration: Work closely with the product development and engineering teams to stay updated on the latest product features and enhancements. o Provide feedback from customers to the product team to help guide future product development. Collaborate with marketing to develop technical content, such as white papers, case studies, and product datasheets. Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for customers and internal sales teams on the technical aspects of the software. Stay current on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge. Sales Process Management: Support the sales cycle from lead generation through closing, ensuring that all technical aspects are addressed. o Assist in the negotiation of contracts by providing detailed technical specifications and ensuring alignment with customer expectations. Track and report on sales activities, customer interactions, and technical issues using CRM tools. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Experience: 3 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales engineering, or a related technical role. Proven experience in software sales, with a strong understanding of software development, architecture, and deployment. Skills: Strong technical acumen and the ability to quickly learn new software products and technologies. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to address customer challenges. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with customers and internal teams. Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools. Other Requirements: Willingness to travel to customer sites and events as required. o Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
