Step Teachers are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join an alternative and special education provider based in West Norfolk. This part-time role and involves teaching a variety of subjects to students with diverse learning needs. The alternative provision school offers tailored educational support for children and young people who find mainstream education unsuitable for their needs. These schools provide a nurturing and flexible environment, addressing specific challenges such as behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties. Additionally, these schools play a crucial role in preparing young people for a smooth transition and re-engagement back into mainstream schooling. Key Responsibilities for SEND Teacher: Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of SEND learners. Cover a range of subjects (not STEM), fostering creativity, personal development, and essential life skills. Create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment to encourage student engagement and progress. Collaborate with support staff and other educators to ensure the best outcomes for all students. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a positive and respectful learning atmosphere. What We’re Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience working with SEND students in a school or alternative education setting. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
