Senior Production Engineer Shipley PERMANENT Circa £40k Our client, a large engineering business based near Shipley, have an immediate requirement to recruit a well versed Senior Production Engineer to join their growing team. Role Overview Focusing on providing technical support to all levels of the business and customers alike. Make Key technical decisions. Assisting in the Review of new products for manufacture, prepare quotations for Sub-contracting internal capabilities. Lead capital investment projects where there is a requirement. Stand in as requested for the Lead Production Engineers when needed and take responsibility for completing delegated tasks when required. Provide a robust process for internal manufacturing: Establish work holding and cutting tool requirements, produce process plans, interpret 3D models through CAM system, create CNC part programs, probing logic, post process, simulate code before release to production where applicable, provide clear instructions on manufacturing method. Key Skills Proficient use in chosen MRP & ERP systems. Proficient in 3D CAD & CAM – Siemens NX bias but not limited to include Alpha CAM / Mazatrol / Heidenhain as required. Proficient understanding of G-Code programs, both reading and editing. Good understanding of Post processor development. Good understanding of probing logic – Renishaw bias but not limited. Ability to understand and choose best manufacturing methods/processes. Ability to design fixtures for work holding. Ability to select cost effective / efficient tooling for manufacture. Ability to calculate speeds and feeds for selected tooling / Manufacturing method. Produce and interpret technical drawings. Proficient use of Fanuc / Siemens / Heidenhain / Mazak machine controls as required. Proficient use of integrated automation soft / hardware as required. Ability to lead small Projects and provide detailed timing plans Knowledge and Experience Formal technical qualifications to ONC or above in Mechanical Engineering. Understanding of metal working processes. Understanding of Material properties. Extensive understanding of ALL internal manufacturing capabilities. Ability to provide quotations to customers for Sub-contract manufacturing. This is a permanent role where you will work regular office hours Monday to Friday. There is some flex on start / finish times and an early finish on a Friday. As well as a strong benefits package, the successful individual can expect a salary in the region of £41k.
