Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible and accountable for planning, executing, and closing projects. They define the project, build a comprehensive work plan, and manage the budget. The core function will be to collaborate with other functions within the business to implement new projects that align with the company's growth expectations. Project Engineers demonstrate our company core values, embrace a can-do attitude, and are dedicated to the timely completion of their work. They undertake tasks while ensuring that high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently maintained. Project Engineers are required to have an in-depth understanding of our production processes and a willingness to get involved in SQCPD continuous improvement projects, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communication:
Constructing and adhering to project plans; good understanding of project management software tools; ability to construct project plans with multiple variables; assertiveness with other functions while demonstrating a professional approach; attend morning SQCDP meetings and daily communication meetings to ensure understanding of targets and objectives; build and maintain relationships with colleagues and customers; escalate relevant issues to the Engineering Manager.
2. Delivery:
Manage allocated budget to support the company's objectives; work closely with other support functions; collaborate with the NPI function; accountable for the project plan; provide accurate project progress weekly; utilize capacity efficiently; monitor and execute project plans; advocate for the customer; keep customers updated on delays and expected dates; coordinate with leadership and other departments to address exceptions.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Excellent written & verbal communication skills; excellent competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook; demonstrable project management experience within a mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing environment; ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity and maturity stages.
Desirable:
Formal project management qualification; product knowledge in electrical control cabinets and/or electro-mechanical assemblies; competency in Microsoft SharePoint.
