This is a new vacancy for an apprentice to join the reception team at the medical practice in Shepton. We are looking for an outgoing and enthusiastic individual. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in administration within the health care setting. You will learn a wide range of skills and will play an integral role in the surgery.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Duties will include:
* Daily covering of reception
* Answering the telephone, liaising with staff and patients
* Accessing patient medical records
* Specific IT software - patient management system
* Admin tasks: photocopying, emails, post, filing
* Writing correspondence to support doctors and other medical staff
* General administrative support throughout the practice
* Operating office equipment
* Making and receiving telephone calls- both external and internal
* Working effectively with others
* Producing a variety of documents
* Working within a strict code of confidentiality
* Having a thorough knowledge of practice policies and procedures and work within them
* Participating in an annual individual performance review
* Undertaking training as required for the better performance of the job and maintaining a record of personal and professional development
* Working well within a team, communicating and sharing
