Principle Accountability
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Assistant will provide valuable support to the CAMFED International MERL Team in providing quality, timely, accurate data to programme teams, donors, governments, and other stakeholders. The role will be varied, collaborative, and fast-paced. It will involve the provision of technical support to CAMFED national office MERL teams in Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, managing information from CAMFED’s programmes and from external sources, to analyse data and capturing and effectively communicating this information externally as well as internally for programmatic learning.
About Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MERL)
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Team tracks and measures the impact of CAMFED’s work through rigorous monitoring, surveys and in-depth research, carefully documenting and celebrating the impact of our programmes and identifying key opportunities for learning. Our approach to learning, measurement and evaluation is grounded in strong data platforms and powered by stakeholder engagement, allowing us to track our impact and outcomes at both the individual and systems level.
Specific Accountabilities
* Contribute to the analysis and write up of quantitative and qualitative data for programmatic, research and reporting purposes, and to support the presentation and communication of CAMFED’s work.
* Providing support to country MERL teams on the Salesforce programme database: run reports and provide support to International, Regional and National office staff in entering, uploading, quality control, using, and analysing programme data in Salesforce.
* Assisting with the creation and modification of forms for data collection, including for mobile phone-based monitoring.
* Assisting with the write up and provision of MERL input to donor reports and proposals.
* Assisting with the analysis of survey and other quantitative data, including data cleaning, and communicating data and analysis in Excel, PowerPoint presentations and dashboards.
* Background web research and other literature reviews.
* Providing support to national office MERL teams on specific tasks.
* Administrative support to the MERL team.
* Other duties as required by the Head of MERL or MERL Managers.

Essential
* Comfortable with Excel. Experience in database management, SPSS and statistical methods desirable.
* Experience in monitoring, evaluation, surveys and/or data analysis desirable.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
