Job Description:
The company is looking to appoint an Electrical Engineering Manager to join our team to lead the electrical department. This exciting role is pivotal as we continue our journey of delivering engineering excellence and innovation in solving our clients’ complex requirements, enhancing the company reputation as a leading supplier in our market sectors. Ultimately, you will work closely with different internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed according to schedule and budget.
Responsibilities:
1. Accountable for the development and implementation of electrical engineering processes and structure within the business.
2. Oversee the production of technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
3. Work closely with the electrical team to develop a more consistent approach and drawing output.
4. Check and approve drawings.
5. Review technical submittals.
6. Responsible for the training and development of electrical team members.
7. Manage and support scheduling within the electrical design team working closely with the head of engineering.
8. Work closely with project managers, clients & production to execute projects in a timely manner agreed with all parties.
9. Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their requirements.
10. Creation of Technical Files (CE Marking) and Manuals.
11. Supervise the day-to-day activities of the electrical team including Time and Attendance, Holidays, etc.
12. Conduct the electrical engineering team's appraisals.
Key Skills:
1. Proven experience in Engine Test Cell Engineering (3 - 5 years minimum) is desirable.
2. HNC/HND/Degree level in electrical engineering.
3. Good experience of 2D electrical design packages for wiring schematics, etc.
4. Strong background in electrical design of industrial capital equipment, machinery & instrumentation such as automated test equipment.
5. Practical electrical installation, commissioning of Capital equipment, and support infrastructure.
6. Ability to specify & design for low voltage applications (48V to 1000VDC).
7. Experience of electrical power distribution.
8. Ability to specify variable speed AC Drives and associated motors.
9. Conversant with the latest Electrical regulations (EN60204, EN13849, IEC 619, IEEE).
10. Conversant with PLC systems.
11. Experience of 3 phase and single-phase electrical systems.
12. Experience of facility electrical wiring.
13. Comfortable with value-added engineering.
14. Conversant with MS Office packages (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
15. UK or overseas trips to clients, this could include India and the USA.
