Job Summary Develop, coordinate, and participate in the functioning of the corporate animal welfare program at all Charles Rive locations worldwide with an emphasis on European sites. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a range of individuals across the company to support the corporate driven animal welfare program. Essential duties and responsibilities: Corporate level Animal Welfare Specialist (AWS) assisting site level AWS with animal welfare event reporting and processing. Assist the Director of Animal Welfare in animal welfare event processing including finalizing events and liaising with site/business unit personnel to gather information. Assist with detailed analysis of global animal welfare event data and report preparation. Review critical animal welfare policies, guidelines and other related documents and support needed revisions and adaptations. Assist with development of GAW&T communications, such as newsletter preparation. Collaborate on the development/revision/translation of training tools in animal welfare. Assist with management of the Animal Welfare Network (i.e., develop agenda, schedule meetings, etc.). Participate in Animal Welfare Network communications including training presentations and meetings. Assist with preparations and conduct of EU site visits. Provide direct and indirect workshop support as well as support for other GAW&T trainings. Participation in regular Animal Welfare Team meetings at European sites. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Education : A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant animal science discipline is required. Fluency in french language is essential. Experience: Five or more years’ experience working with a range of laboratory animal species in a research setting, including research models, discovery sciences and/or toxicology. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Certifications/Licensure: FELASA certification or evidence of completion of accredited course work within EU. Other: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French, with the ability to communicate effectively with large and small audiences. Demonstrate working knowledge of animal welfare issues relevant to corporate business activities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Must be able to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information. Demonstrated proficient skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and Microsoft 360 suite applications are required. Experience with data analysis, pivot tables, SmartSheets, and basic statistics is highly desirable. Additonal Comments: This is a remote position, requiring the individual to work from home. This position would occasionally require domestic and international travel (circa 10%). This position would occasionally require off hours work.
