This is your chance to contribute to the success of their growing investment plan Vacancy Brief: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-impact investment projects that help improve the living conditions for tenants. You will oversee everything from procurement to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered to budget and on time, while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. This is an interim opportunity for a minimum of 3 – 6 months. A full-time role, it is 35 hours per week with Hybrid working options. Based in Shropshire. Day Rate for this role is £400.00 Successful candidates have relevant qualifications such as a Building Maintenance / Construction Degree, OND, HND or equivalent. The Responsibilities: In your role as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be taking assigned projects within the investment plan from pre-tender procurement stage through to final handover to include preparing specifications, procurement, project management and contract administration ensuring works are carried out to a high level of workmanship in accordance with contract documents, specifications and drawings and in line with relevant health and safety legislation. You will act as Principal Designer, taking responsibility for pre-construction health and safety, and ensuring all necessary risk assessments and method statements are in place. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will operate within the financial restrictions of the group’s Standing Orders and will be required to manage a range of professional external advisors including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, local authorities, solicitors, etc. An important part of your role will be managing appropriate budgets to ensure that expenditure remains within prescribed budgets, including monitoring the effectiveness of consultants and contractors in respect of delivery cost and quality of work. You will be required to oversee procurement processes, liaising with external contractors and suppliers, ensuring that all procurement activities are in compliance with the group’s standing orders. You will be required to deliver assigned projects on time and in accordance with key performance indicators which will be reviewed annually. Part of your role will be to ensure accurate information is available at all times to the Contract Manager to meet investment plan spend and programme targets and ensure compliance with audit requirements. Furthermore, as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring inspections are carried out on assigned projects in the agreed manner to ensure that works carried out in accordance with the contract documents, specifications and drawings and in line with relevant health and safety legislation. Key Requirements: Strong knowledge of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and experience of fulfilling Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duties. Proven track record in managing social housing projects, with a deep understanding of Decent Homes standards. Proficient in using project management software, asset management systems, and CAD tools.
