Join our team as a Financial Controller, where you'll oversee our Financial Accounting and Transactions Teams, ensuring excellence in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking. Title: Financial Controller Location: Gilwell Park, Chingford, London (with hybrid working at least two days a week at Gilwell Park) Salary: £65,129 per annum – Band H, Level 3 (Inclusive of Outer London Weighting & Market Supplement) Term: Permanent Working Hours: 35 hours per week As the Financial Controller, Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting : Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in Accounts Payable, Receivable, General Ledger, and Banking activities. Regulatory Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with laws and tax obligations (VAT, Corporation Tax) and oversee the preparation of annual accounts and audits. Financial Control: Develop and maintain an effective internal control framework to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. Business Partnering: Provide advice and guidance to employees, volunteers, and trustees on financial responsibilities. Financial Systems: Safeguard the integrity of financial systems with robust controls. Treasury Management: Oversee cash management, including debt collection and optimal fund utilisation. Process Improvement : Drive continuous improvement within financial operations and systems. People Management: Inspire and motivate the team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and high performance. Who we’re looking for as our Financial Controller: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication. Ability to actively listen and effectively inspire and motivate others. Proven leadership experience, particularly in vision-setting and strategy development. Strong capability to articulate and guide others toward the bigger picture and evolving financial processes. A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Significant experience in senior financial accounting or auditing roles. Demonstrated track record of achieving impactful outcomes. Driven by the desire to foster continuous improvement. Ability to collaborate with others to develop and enhance processes and tools. Skilled at quickly establishing strong relationships, both virtually and in person.
