At Pricecheck, we’re on a growth journey aiming for £200 million by 2026. As a Business Development Researcher, you’ll be key in identifying new business opportunities, from customers to suppliers, using resources like news articles, Companies House, and websites. Your research will feed into our CRM system, creating leads for the Business Development Executives to follow up. You'll also evaluate new customer website sign-ups, grading opportunities based on your findings.
This varied role offers ownership of projects such as market research and buying initiatives, ideal for someone organised, methodical, and keen to shape the role to their strengths. You’ll gain exposure to different business areas and, during busy periods, provide sales support, working closely with an International Account Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your commercial awareness and sales knowledge while contributing directly to the company’s ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage various research projects, identifying new business opportunities
* Conduct in-depth research on current customers and suppliers, identifying potential growth areas
* Apply innovative research techniques with strong commercial awareness
* Work closely with the Business Development Administrators to maintain accurate CRM records and information
* Review and streamline departmental processes to improve efficiency
* Carry out market research and store visits
* Support the sales team during busy periods, assisting with stock lists, orders, and customer communications
* Attend trade shows and industry events, contributing to preparation and gaining valuable market insight
* Adapt and provide sales support cover during holidays and peak times, confidently engaging with customers over the phone
Essential Requirements:
* A keen interest in Business and Research
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel
* Strong communication skills with the ability to see ideas through to completion
* A team player who can also take initiative to find better ways of working
* Organised, disciplined, and self-motivated, with a methodical approach to tasks
* A keen eye for detail while also keeping the bigger picture and long-term strategy in mind
