Our Team
The Security Engineering team is part of Technical Operations and Cyber Security within Virgin Money, and we maintain the Bank’s Security tools & applications. Our aim of Security Engineering is to cultivate unwavering trust in our products and services by engineering resilient security solutions that protect our users and customers from evolving threats.
What you’ll be doing
* As a Lead Cyber Engineer, you will take a proactive approach in using security engineering tools to identify and mitigate network & security risks.
* Develop, implement, and oversee security measures using specialised tools based on Cyber security best practices.
* Collaborate closely and provide leadership to the wider team, project teams and other stakeholders.
* Lead on the development of Network Detection and Response (NDR) initiatives.
* Lead the development and support of network segmentation capabilities.
* Oversee the rollout of new technologies and integrations with security tooling.
* Contribute to the team culture and the ongoing evolution of security engineering practices.
* Utilise automation to streamline processes and reduce repetitive tasks.
We need you to have
* Leadership experience with hands-on exposure and knowledge of cyber and network security.
* 5-7 years of experience in Cyber Engineering, ideally in a leadership role.
* Experience with deploying Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD technologies.
* Hands-on experience working with cloud technologies.
* Experience in the methodology & applying of zero-trust principles.
* Proven ability to design/deploy zero-trust security solutions.
It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
* Experience as a Senior Cyber Security Engineer or Senior Network Engineer.
* Cyber Security certifications (especially cloud centric).
* Knowledge of infrastructure and application monitoring.
* Leadership experience in working in a continuous delivery mindset.
