JobSummary:
The CCTVoperations team is part of the council s Public Safety Division andplays a critical role in enhancing public safety and the majorincidentmanagement.
The serviceprovides the necessary assurance with regard to the Council sreadiness and preparedness to respond to significant events as aCategory 1 responder outlined within the Civil Contingencies Act2004.
The service hasdeveloped a strong crosscouncil approach towards ensuring thatthere are robust arrangements in place to enable the Council todeliver effective and timely responses to a broad range of criticalincidents in conjunction with partner organisations and ensuringour local communities areresilient.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities:
As part of thePublic Safety Division Management Team the CCTV Operations Managerwill manage the daytoday functions of the service ensuring theinformation and data resources meet the needs of customers andstakeholders.
The post holderwill ensure staff and assets are tasked appropriately to maximisethe impact of the service demonstrating value formoney.
Provideleadership and direction for the team ensuring a best practicebasedapproach which meets the Council saspirations.
The successfulpostholder will work with a high degree of autonomy and will ensurethere are robust arrangements in place to ensure the efficacy ofthe CCTV OperationsTeam
EssentialExperienceRequired:
Knowledge ofCCTV in a local government context is desirable but it is moreimportant for that the postholder has demonstrable experience as apeople leader within the local government or public sectorenvironment and extensive experience of working in partnership witha range of internal and externalstakeholders.
The postholderwill have a can do and think outside of the box attitude in problemsolving driving continuous service improvement and should be usedto working in a highdemand and dynamicenvironment.
Excellentcommunication skills both written and verbal to a range ofaudiences are essential and you will have a flexible approach towork and the ability to work outside of core office hours to suitthe operational businessneeds.
You will havegood working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook Excel andWork.
