Our client, a well-established organisation known for its positive and inclusive work culture, is currently looking for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join their team based in York. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about fostering strong working relationships and providing expert advice to managers, ensuring a fair and supportive workplace for all. About the Role: In this role, you will use your employee relations expertise to guide and support managers on a wide range of HR issues, from performance management and disciplinary actions to grievances and complex investigations. You’ll play a crucial role in promoting best practices, ensuring compliance with employment law, and resolving cases efficiently and fairly. Additionally, you'll have the chance to help managers develop their skills, enabling them to handle employee relations matters effectively. Key Responsibilities: Provide advice and support to managers on various employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance issues, and long-term absences. Manage complex cases, including investigations into misconduct and safeguarding concerns, ensuring clear and thorough documentation. Advise on formal hearings, helping managers navigate the process and ensure robust and fair outcomes. Assist with complex or high-risk cases, liaising with the Employee Relations Manager when necessary. Report on case trends, volumes, and progress, working closely with People Business Partners to identify areas of concern. Support managers in handling restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes when needed. What We’re Looking For: A degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field. Proven experience in an HR or Employee Relations Advisor role, with a strong understanding of employee relations best practices. In-depth knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply it practically. Experience conducting investigations, managing complex cases, and handling grievances, disciplinaries, and performance issues. Strong analytical skills to assess evidence and make fair, reasonable decisions. Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple cases and work to tight deadlines. Proficient IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and HR systems.
