Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
Clinical
1. Clinics - to attend clinics related to the specialty including neuro oncology post MDT rapid access clinic.
2. Ward Rounds - daily with Registrars, SHOs, Specialist Nurses and separately with Consultant, expected to lead morning ward rounds or any other as required by the department.
3. Operating - expected to get involved with specialist procedures as appropriate.
4. Research - expected to undertake clinical research and ongoing clinical trials while being in the post.
All duties are within University Hospitals, Nottingham.
Teaching
There will be opportunities to teach undergraduates and nursing staff and other health professionals.

Professional Registration
Essential criteria
* GMC licence to practice MBBS or other recognised equivalent medical qualification registerable with GMC.
Professional Qualifications/Development
Essential criteria
* MRCS (UK) or equivalent. In neurosurgical specialist training or have completed such training.
Desirable criteria
* GCP certification Higher academic degree e.g. MD or PhD.
Clinical Skills/Experience
Essential criteria
* Evidence of commitment to Neuro-oncology.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of intra-operative imaging.
Teaching, Audit & Research
Essential criteria
* Participation in, and commitment to Clinical audit. Experience of and commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Desirable criteria
* Publications and knowledge of recent developments in areas of specialist interest.
Personal Skills/Qualities
Essential criteria
* Hepatitis B immune. Clear, fluent and articulate in verbal and written presentation.
Desirable criteria
* Communication skills qualification.

* Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post may be subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£42.90 for enhanced and £22.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month's pay).
