Job Description: Work Placement Coordinator - Health Care and Early Years (Term time only)

Salary: £20,353 to £21,584 per annum
Position: 35 hours per week term time only, permanent

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Work Placement Coordinator to join our team. As the Work Placement Coordinator for Health Care and Early Years, you will play a crucial role in facilitating student placements, liaising with industry partners, and ensuring that our students receive valuable learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Working closely with College Manager and/or key contacts within the curriculum area to agree and plan for effective and appropriate work placements for students on study programmes or students studying on other programmes.
2. Liaise with a variety of placements/employers to source potential work placements within an appropriate timeframe and continuously develop and maintain effective relationships.
3. Checking the implementation of legal and contractual requirements affecting work placement procurement and provision.
4. Responsibility for checking the implementation of Health and Safety and Insurance requirements for employers. Where appropriate implement a risk assessment in accordance with college policies and procedures.
5. Carrying out Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for students in specific vocational areas in accordance with WMC and DBS guidelines and requirements.
6. Responsible for compiling and coordinating the documents that are provided to students completing work placements which are necessary to ensure the smooth transition of students from curriculum to work placements.
7. Compiling, updating and maintaining records of work placements arranged and sourced.
8. Responsibility for carrying out administrative duties associated with work based learning.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Level 2 or above literacy/English qualification
2. Level 2 or above numeracy/maths qualification
3. Health/Health and Social Care Level 2 qualification or above
4. Functional ICT and administrative skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages - Word, Excel and Databases
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills
6. Ability to communicate with a wide range of people and develop effective working relationships.
7. Ability to work as a supportive member of a team.
8. Ability to prioritise own work and achieve tight deadlines whilst managing conflicting priorities.
9. Excellent organisational skills.
