A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Logistics Manager, based within the Procurement Department. The post-holder will be employed and managed by Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, but will be based primarily within the Sheffield Children's Hospital.
The post holder will be required to oversee an efficient, cost effective, timely and courteous Materials Management and Receipt and Distribution service to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Children's NHS Trust. This post covers a range of tasks, which require the exercise of initiative.
Main Duties of the Job
To provide routine replenishment of goods to designated end user departments:
* with an acceptable quality of service
* at lowest possible operating cost
* with minimal working capital tied up in stock
* to ensure integration with the Added Value Productivity and Efficiency programme.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE grade C/4 and above (Maths and English) or equivalent qualification/ experience.
* NVQ3 (eg AA340) or equivalent qualification/ experience or working towards/ability to work towards.
* Diploma in Business Admin (eg AA320) or adequate experience.
* Procurement/ Supply Chain Logistics qualifications eg MCIPS, MILT or ability to meet these.
Experience
* Extensive experience in a comparable customer-orientated operational environment.
* Extensive experience in electronic stock control systems.
* Experience of controlling stock levels.
* Experience of Inventory Management software.
* Experience of managing staff.
* Experience of dealing with suppliers.
Further Training
* Management/supervision training and ability to work towards further qualifications.
* Project Management training.
* Excel, Access spreadsheet training.
* Analytical skills (numerical).
* Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
* Interpersonal skills: impact and influence.
* Ability to prioritise own workload and use initiative.

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 a year pro rata for part-time staff.
