Job description
A vacancy has arisen at Mapei (UK) Ltd for the role of Facilities Engineer, Multi-skilled. This is a new role.
This role will be to ensure that the office, factory, and associated facilities are always maintained to the highest possible standards and that the building infrastructure and fabric are robustly protected and cared for, including the operation of ancillary equipment. Liaise with facilities contractors and supervise the apprentices team.
The ideal candidate will be a capable individual who is highly motivated, has excellent communication skills, is highly organized, articulate, and able to work under pressure while being able to prioritize workloads. They will be able to undertake all duties as listed in the job description and meet the essential and desirable criteria as below. They will also support and assist apprentices, acting as a mentor and teacher as required.
Essential knowledge/skills:
1. At least 3 years recent experience of working within Facilities Maintenance or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.
2. Good level of Excel, with a thorough knowledge of Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
3. Must have a strong work ethic and be reliable.
4. Troubleshoot/Diagnose faults Electrically and Mechanically on a wide variety of equipment using drawings/schematics/PC.
5. IPAF / PASMA and forklift truck qualifications (full training will be provided).
6. Must be eligible to work in the UK. Full clean and valid driving licence.
Desirable:
1. Educated to HNC, (or HND or degree Level).
2. Qualifications to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (such as ONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering).
3. IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations.
4. A good understanding of hydraulic systems and principles is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
5. At least 3 years Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or similar.
6. Welding and fabrication qualifications/experience advantageous.
7. Experience in industrial doors and loading bay systems.
The hours of work will be 37.5 hours a week, 0800-1630 Monday to Friday.
