This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Team in a large £1bn, high performing, acute Foundation Trust in a fantastic location on the South Coast. Maintain strong governance and financial controls, you will work with a variety of stakeholders, to deliver customer focused financial support at pace to our UHS and our subsidiary colleagues. This role is a key part of the finance Senior Leadership Team, providing overall financial leadership to the organisation and supporting the achievement of our new Finance Team Vision. Your Responsibilities Detailed job description and main responsibilities What You’ll Do You will lead our Operational Finance team to inspire, develop and support our colleagues to live our UHS Values every day. You will contribute to the leadership and development of the department, supporting the innovative delivery of our vision and strategic objectives. You will maintain strong governance and financial controls, working with a variety of stakeholders, to deliver customer-focused financial support at pace to our UHS and subsidiary colleagues. You will oversee the Trust’s year-end process and be responsible for delivering a robust set of financial accounts. What We’re Looking For CCAB qualified, you will bring in-depth experience at a senior level of financial management. You will have delivered significant organisational and financial change, leading with drive, compassion, and motivation to live our UHS Values. You will have senior management experience, supporting and mentoring teams; with strong communication skills, you will be able to build effective and sustainable relationships across a range of stakeholders. You will have experience in financial accounting, including the production of financial accounts from an organisation of scale and complexity, aligned to national policy and guidelines. Person specification Qualifications / Training Required Essential criteria CCAB qualified accountant with considerable post qualification experience at a senior level or equivalent knowledge and experience Extensive specialist knowledge of finance, performance and information acquired through postgraduate diploma or experience to masters level. Previous or relevant experience necessary Essential criteria In depth experience at a senior level of financial management in a large organisation. Successful delivery of significant organisational and financial change. Senior operational finance leadership experience. Proven experience of delivering change in a large organisation. Significant experience of delivering long term organisational financial strategies Experience of financial accounting, including the production of financial accounts Significant Leadership and management experience Desirable criteria Detailed and expert knowledge of NHS Trust financial processes, NHS structural relationships, the NHS financial regime and existing legislation and accounting standards Experience of a similar role in an NHS organisation.
