Job Overview About The Role Are you the type of person that like to get hands on and learn new things? An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Maintenance Operatives to join our team on our Plastic recycling plant in Telford. At AO Recycling, we are committed to extracting as much value as possible from the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that is thrown away by UK households every year. Our fully automated fridge recycling plant is the most efficient and advanced in the UK and sets a new standard in recovering metals, plastics, and gases. It processes 100 fridges per hour, 700,000 per year. Our second site is a fully automated plastic recycling facility where we combine sink-float technology and electrostatic separation to turn mixed fridge plastics into high-quality recycled products. As AO’s new Maintenance Operative, you work alongside our Engineers and play a massive part in keeping our plant one of the most efficient and advanced in the UK. You will gain tonnes of knowledge about recycling, the equipment that we use and the things we need to do to keep it running efficiently and effectively. Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing No Two Days Are Ever The Same At AO Recycling, But Here’s a Taste Of What You’ll Get Up To Working Monday to Friday on alternating shifts 5:30am to 2pm and 2pm to 10:30pm. Preparing the plant for production in the morning and shutting down at the end of the day. Monitoring the plant, making sure it is working properly. Carrying out basic maintenance and plant checks as and when required. Carrying out plant clean downs. Assisting our Engineers with any breakdowns or other stoppages. Keeping basic records on task completion and plant downtime A Few Things About You We don’t expect you to know everything about our technology and equipment, You don’t have to be an expert, we can make you one You will work alongside our engineers who will provide as much guidance and support as required to get you up to speed However, it would be amazing if you’re: Energetic and hard working. Pretty good with your hands and used to using basic tools and equipment. Happy to get stuck in and a great team player. A good communicator both written and verbal. Driven with an appetite to learn and self-develop. Knowledgeable about safe working practices within a factory or plant environment.
