Temporary Finance Assistant (Purchases) - Holiday Cover Based in BS9, Bristol 1-Month Contract (Starting 1st April) £14.10 per hour JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Temporary Finance Assistant (Purchases) Overview: We are looking for a Temporary Finance Assistant to provide holiday cover for one month, starting 1st April. The role focuses on processing financial data within the purchases cycle, ensuring smooth financial operations during the period. This is a great opportunity for someone with finance experience to step into a well-organised team in a supportive work environment. Main Terms: Contract: 1-month temporary position Pay: £14.10 per hour Hours: 18 hours per week (flexible across 2 to 5 days - to be discussed at interview) Benefits: Free lunches and parking Location: BS9, Bristol Main Responsibilities: Processing purchase invoices in Sage accounting software, ensuring authorisation and correct coding. Ensuring timely payment runs. Managing supplier accounts, including setup and payment terms. Handling supplier queries and reconciling accounts. Maintaining financial spreadsheets to support budget monitoring. Processing staff and student expense claims. Posting credit card transactions. Assisting the finance team with other tasks as needed. Person Specification: We are looking for a candidate with: A background in accounting (AAT qualification or higher is desirable). Experience using Sage and Excel in a finance role. Strong IT skills and the ability to work efficiently with financial data. Purchase ledger experience, with a good understanding of financial processes. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with great attention to detail. Good written communication skills for liaising with suppliers and colleagues. A high level of honesty, integrity, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
