As the Procurement and Media Officer, the role will be split into two main disciplines. The Procurement aspect of this role will involve the incumbent working closely with the BSL UK Head Office Team and will be responsible for overseeing procurement related activities as directed by the Sales and Commercial Manager. This will include:
1. Building and developing relationships with both local and regional suppliers.
2. Sourcing a multitude of equipment and services that are required by BSL UK HO.
3. Ensuring the BSL UK adheres to its governance, processes and procedures at all times.
4. Ensuring subcontractors deliver on time and to cost and quality.
For the Media aspect, you will work closely with the Growth Team to develop and implement strategies that increase our online presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts and support company-wide communications. The role will require the incumbent to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of how to create engaging content, analyse metrics, execute campaigns and manage internal and external communications.
The role will be responsible to the UK Sales & Marketing Manager with a functional responsibility to the Head of Growth in Qatar.
Core Activity
Procurement
The role supports the continuous improvement, implementation and governance of the BSL Procurement systems and processes, ensuring that compliance is maintained with the appropriate standards.
The incumbent will support the BSL UK Head Office Delivery Team in order creation, pending procurement release, review of invoices and local Procurement activities.
Working within Procurement Function, the incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of Procurement Management Plans and other documentation.
This documentation will include all relevant policies, procedures and detail the reporting systems, ensuring that BSL is compliant with relevant legal requirements.
The incumbent will be expected to work closely with the Head Office Team to ascertain and understand the requirements of the various contracts, and seek, engage and build relationships with local suppliers to find appropriate equipment to meet the requirements of the various contracts.
Media
Content Creation: Assist in the creation of engaging and visually appealing content for various social media platforms. Develop creative and compelling copy for social media posts and internal company communications. Support the Growth team in the creation of graphics, videos and other multimedia content.
Social Media Management: Schedule and publish posts across all social media channels. Monitor and respond to comments, messages and mentions in a timely and professional manner. Assist in managing social media calendars and ensuring timely posting.
Company Communications: Support internal and external company communications by drafting announcements, newsletters and emails in collaboration with relevant departments. Collaborate with the Head of Growth and HR teams to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels. Assist in preparing materials for company meetings, events and presentations, ensuring that corporate communications align with the company’s branding and values.
Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyse social media and communication performance metrics using analytics tools. Prepare reports summarising social media and communication performance trends and insights. Provide recommendations for improving engagement, reach and communication effectiveness based on data analysis.
Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and execution of social media and communication campaigns and promotions. Collaborate with the Growth Team and relevant departments to develop campaign strategies and goals. Help coordinate collaborations with external partners, ensuring alignment with communication objectives.
Research and Trends: Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, communication tools and best practices. Conduct competitor analysis and benchmark our social media performance and company communications against industry standards. Suggest new ideas and innovative approaches to improve our social media presence and communication strategies.
Key Accountabilities
Procurement
Ensure planned procurement's are executed effectively and subcontracts are delivered to time, cost and quality in line with the latest Procurement processes. Ensure any new potential Suppliers are taken through the due diligence process. Provide support on all Procurement related matters for BSL. Ensure functional alignment with any processes and procedures being adopted by BSL and its Shareholders.
Media
Content Quality & Consistency: Deliver high quality, engaging content for social media and company communications with adherence to branding guidelines and deadlines. Engagement & Response Time: Achieve an increase in social media engagement (likes, shares, comments). Respond to social media comments and messages within 24 (working) hours, maintaining a professional tone. Communication Effectiveness: Draft and distribute company communications with positive feedback on clarity and professionalism. Ensure all communications align with company values and are delivered within the set timelines. Analytics & Reporting: Provide accurate social media and communication performance reports on a routine. Present actionable recommendations that lead to improvement in engagement and reach. Campaign Success: Successfully support the planning and execution of at least one social media campaign, achieving defined engagement or reach goals. Ensure all campaign materials and messaging align with business objectives and are delivered on time. Innovation & Initiative: Implement at least one new social media trend or tool that results in measurable improvements. Provide at least two suggestions for enhancing social media presence or communication effectiveness during the internship.
Requirements
Ideally, the candidate should be qualified in an internationally recognised procurement certification or working towards CIPs.
Proficiency in using social media platforms.
Creative mindset with attention to detail.
The ability to promote change and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external.
Strong organizational and motivational skills.
Competent in the use of IT, spreadsheets, word processing and database management.
