The role We are looking for a Legal Compliance Assistant to join our Risk & Compliance team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Crime, Risk & Compliance, the Legal Compliance Assistant will assist with monitoring and implementing the Firm's risk and anti-money laundering procedures. Responsibilities: - Assist with the administration of the Firm's Risk, Data Protection, Gifts and Entertainment registers; - Monitor compliance with the Firm's file closure procedure; - Assist with on-going monitoring of the firm's clients & matters; - Identify and inform senior members of the Compliance team on risk issues as they arise; - Assist with the administration of risk and compliance training; - Keep up to date on all changes to SRA and AML regulations; - Assist with the practising certificate renewal and maintain organisational data in MySRA; - Provide general day-to-day Compliance support across the Firm; - Assist with maintaining the Compliance intranet page; - Assist senior colleagues in the Compliance team with their duties and responsibilities; - Assist with dealing with new business enquiries in line with internal protocol. Skills required: - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent - An interest in risk and compliance within the legal sector - Knowledge of AML requirements would be advantageous - Good research skills using online databases - Good analytical, written and communication skills - Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines - Ability to create and nurture relationships at all levels - Hardworking and positive attitude - Ability to work in teams and independently Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
