Job Description
We are partnering with a Freight Forwarding organisation seeking a General Manager to join their team in Essex.
You will be responsible for managing the branch, sales and development of the business.
Responsibilities:
1. Reporting directly to the Group Chairman
2. Oversee import and export operations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of legal, financial, and invoicing tasks.
3. Create, maintain, and enforce SOPs for the department, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
4. Communicate and report internal leads to sales and customer service teams.
5. Manage staff and oversee day-to-day operations.
6. Responsible for assisting the company growth and expanding commercial activities.
7. Oversee sales activities.
8. Provide training, supervision and maintain staff records.
9. Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
10. Oversee the general day-to-day running of the Essex branch.
Skills Required:
1. International freight forwarding experience.
2. Experience working within a sales and development position.
3. Excellent negotiation skills working with Shipping Lines and Roadfreight organisations.
4. Excellent leadership skills.
5. Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
6. Excellent understanding of import/export operations.
7. Exceptional communication skills.
