* To succeed in this role, I am looking for candidates who can take a top-down view to identify necessary changes and evaluate their impact on our IT estate, both current and future. You should have experience working closely with technology to deliver an architecture and demonstrate how complex problems have been solved, while taking ownership of challenges with no obvious solution. Collaboration with multiple agile delivery teams to achieve the desired outcome, using a diverse range of technologies, tools, and processes, is essential.
* I expect you to have proven experience in designing large projects and guiding those designs through to delivery. Being accountable for end-to-end solutions from initiation to initial delivery and its ongoing lifecycle per our strategy is important. You should also have experience leading and influencing diverse groups to agree on technical solutions, as well as developing technical strategies and roadmaps.
* Additionally, you'll need to demonstrate planning for decommissioning, maintainability, and scalability while ensuring compliance with security requirements and legal/legislative responsibilities. Staying informed about upcoming technologies and industry changes, with the ability to convey technical ideas and concepts simply to diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leaders, is crucial.
Responsibilities:
* As a Lead Security Architect, my expectations are that you will:
* Work in teams to continuously improve the security of our platforms and services.
* Advise and coach teams on cybersecurity practices.
* Take a risk-based and outcome-driven approach to secure architecture.
* Develop and communicate meaningful security policies.
* Identify and promote best practices for multidisciplinary teams to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable services.
* Identify, own, and respond to security risks and issues as they arise.
* Cultivate and maintain relationships with other security teams within GDS, Cabinet Office, NCSC, and the rest of government.
* Line manage other security architects.
* I expect that everyone will spend at least 60% of their working time in the office, with occasional travel necessary to HMLR business units, external supplier sites, and other Government Departments.

The minimum starting total pay for this role is £63,100, and the maximum total pay after two years is £80,400. Successful candidates are required to undergo an annual capability assessment to determine future supplement levels.
