The Role:
We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Head of Physical Education to lead our dynamic PE department. The successful candidate will be passionate about physical education and sports, capable of delivering high-quality teaching, and enthusiastic about driving forward the strategic vision of the PE curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop the PE department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Develop and implement an innovative and balanced PE curriculum that promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure all students achieve their potential.
Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and school teams.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Manage departmental resources, including equipment and facilities, to support effective teaching and learning.
Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Physical Education or a related field.
Proven experience in teaching PE at the secondary school level, with a track record of outstanding results.
Demonstrable leadership experience within an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and current educational best practices.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Pay rate is dependent on experience & qualifications

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
