The post is for 30 hours a week, all year round, and is to be based at CYP Services, Haleacre, Amersham. The locality covers the Chesham, Amersham, Princes Risborough, Chalfonts and Burnham areas. We additionally have bases in Buckingham, Stoke Mandeville and High Wycombe, so would expect you to travel between sites.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be accountable to the Service Lead for School and Learning Disability Nurse and will work with other 0-19+ Locality Leads as required to ensure that the activity of their designated team is coordinated as required with other Trust Services and other Agencies in support of effective and efficient care pathways. They will forge effective working relationships with other CYP Nursing Teams, including Health Visiting, Children Looked After, Family Nurse Partnership and Community Nurses for Children with a Learning Disability.
Job responsibilities
The postholder will work as a key member of the 0-19 Public Health Nursing (PHN) Team and wider Organisational Department. They will contribute to the operational management and co-ordination of the School Nursing Team (5-19+ Integrated Public Health Nursing Team). The post holder will be a strong advocate for children, young people and families and will take a lead in the supporting the School Nursing (5-19+ PHN) Transformation Board objectives, the Healthy Child Programme, and the service development.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential
1. NMC Registered Nurse or Midwife inc Adult, Mental Health, Children or Learning Disability Nursing
2. Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SN or HV)
3. Evidence of Leadership training
4. Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
1. Nurse Prescribing
2. Community Practice Educator qualification
3. Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA)
4. Mentorship in Professional Practice (ENB 998 or MSPP)
EXPERIENCE
Essential
1. Significant recent experience of working as a SCPHN delivering the Healthy Child programme for 5-19's.
2. Experience of implementing agreed programmes of change
3. Experience of working across organisational and professional boundaries
4. Experience of successful team working, supervision and appraisal of staff.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential
1. Knowledge of local and national strategic developments, legislation and policy development relating to children's services
2. Ability to work with staff to achieve performance targets for the School Nursing
3. Ability to prioritise and refocus with competing demands
