Job Overview
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in delivering assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to patients in acute settings, with a focus on general medicine and elderly care. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will support patients in regaining independence and enhancing their quality of life during and after their hospital stay.
Key Responsibilities
* Assessment and Treatment: Perform comprehensive patient assessments in acute and elderly care settings, creating and implementing individualized treatment plans.
* Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate patient care with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers.
* Patient:Centered Care: Provide evidence:based therapeutic interventions to promote functional ability, independence, and well:being.
* Documentation and Reporting: Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes according to Trust guidelines.
* Education and Support: Educate and support patients, families, and carers with self:management techniques and rehabilitation exercises.
Requirements
* Qualifications: Degree in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration.
* Experience: Proven experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally in general medicine and elderly care.
* Skills: Strong assessment, planning, and evaluation skills with the ability to manage a complex caseload independently.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Flexibility: Adaptability to dynamic acute care needs, with willingness to work varied shifts if required.
