Work Period: 7-10 hours per week, Fall
Work Schedule: Office is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Schedule will be flexible to accommodate student’s schedule and activities. Some hours will be completed outside the office setting, such as creating video content, photos, interviews, and posts for ZeeMee. Occasional evening/weekend hours may be requested to monitor Messiah’s ZeeMee Ask A Student Account, chat with prospective students, etc.
Position Summary: This position provides support to the Enrollment Technology and Communication team with specific assistance directed to the communications-related functions overseen by the Associate Director of Enrollment Technology and Communication.
Major Preferred: Communications, English, Marketing
Experience Required: Must have general computer knowledge including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience Preferred:
* Experience proofreading and/or writing copy for communications
* Familiarity with some kind of customer relationship management or other data system used for managing contact with customers or clients
* Creating and posting content for social media platforms
* Knowledge of HTML is a plus, but not necessary
Skills, Characteristics Required for Position:
* Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills
* Demonstrate creativity and ability to work independently, but within guidance provided by supervisor
* Ability to work on multiple assignments with managed deadlines
* Students filling this position must exercise extreme confidentiality, as this position will have access to admissions student records and data.
Primary Duties:
* Collaborate with the Associate Director of Enrollment Technology and Communication and the team to support social media efforts by developing content tailored to prospective Messiah University students. This includes platforms like ZeeMee and class-specific Instagram accounts. Responsibilities include participating in (and hosting) live events, representing Messiah in social media videos, and engaging with prospective students through digital content.
* Serve as a primary student influencer on ZeeMee by answering questions from prospective students, creating and sharing videos showcasing student life, interviewing fellow students and community members for social media content, and providing insights to help prospective students envision themselves at Messiah.
* Assist in building email and text communication templates within the Slate CRM under the guidance of the Associate Director of Enrollment Technology and Communication.
* Write and refine copy for prospective student communications, offering student-centered feedback to ensure messaging is engaging and relevant.
* Audit student records in the Slate CRM to evaluate the frequency and content of communications, providing student-focused insights as part of ongoing research and assessment efforts.
* Conduct environmental scans and competitor research related to communications and admissions webpages to support strategic improvements.
* Support the Director of Enrollment Technology and Communication with special projects.
* Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Secondary Duties: Other duties as assigned. May on occasion support the Office of Admissions with visitors (which could include campus tours, greeting families, and event support).
