We are looking to recruit a caring and enthusiastic healthcare assistant to join our team on MECU Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. You need to have excellent communication skills, as our patients are often complex and require you to be patient and understanding. You will be required to liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure needs are identified and communicated effectively so that safe decisions are made around patient care and discharge needs to promote safe and speedy discharges to an appropriate destination.

Qualifications
* Willingness & ability to undertake NVQ Level 2
* Basic level of general education
* Excellent command of English - particularly in verbal communication
* NVQ Level 2 in care
* Experience of working within a team
* Experience of working with people
* Experience of working in an acute hospital trust
* Experience as a Healthcare Assistant
Skills
* Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting.
* Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding.
* Able to present factual information and refer questions to others where appropriate.
* Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
* An understanding of organisation of nursing care.
* Basic I.T. skills in email.
* Basic understanding of NHS issues.
* Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the healthcare setting.
* Carry out clinical interventions as delegated by a RN or Doctor as agreed by local protocols.
* Able to perform a wide range of duties.
* Ability to perform ECGs.
* Ability to undertake venepuncture.
* Ability to monitor basic observations (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Oxygen Saturations etc).

Salary: £23,615 a year (pro rata for part-time)
