Job Title: M&E Estimator

A leading M&E Contractor is currently looking for an M&E Estimator (mechanical bias) to join their expanding team in Dartford, Kent.
The company delivers refurbishment and fit-out projects across the London and Home Counties area, providing mechanical and electrical services to a wide range of clients and businesses, such as commercial offices, hospitals, schools, laboratories, retail, and high-end residential buildings. These projects are typically valued from £200k to £2M.
As the M&E Estimator, you will be preparing mechanical & electrical estimates of values up to £2 million, so previous experience is essential. They are ideally looking for someone with a mechanical bias and a strong understanding of electrical tenders.
The M&E Estimator will have the following responsibilities:
* Close liaison with new and existing clients regarding any enquiries received and assigned, always representing the business in a professional manner.
* Preparing accurate and competitive M&E tenders.
* Manage the tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
* Attend site surveys or tender interviews as necessary.
* Evaluate supplier and sub-contract returns to ensure compliance with the tender specification.
* Maintaining and updating cost databases to reflect current market trends, material prices, and labour costs ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
* Liaise with other departments regarding completion of all information as identified as required within the enquiry.
* Provide ongoing assistance to the projects team if requests for the generation of variation costs are received.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
* Experience within a similar position as M&E Estimator.
* Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems and their installation methods.
* Confident communicator.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines whilst managing multiple tenders.
* The ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise tenders.
