Description Are you interested in driving risk management at the Scottish Public Pensions Agency? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen. The agency administers pensions for Scottish Teachers, Police, Firefighters’ and National Health Service employees on behalf of the Scottish Government. As Senior Risk Management Lead you will ensure appropriate risk management practices are followed throughout the agency, supporting and educating teams to ensure consistent standards. You will work closely with the SPPA Executive Team and their direct reports. Responsibilities Lead the integration of management of risk throughout the agency, ensuring the Risk Framework is consistently applied and followed. Promotes a proactive approach to risk management at each level across the agency, including with the SPPA Executive Team, their senior leadership teams and the Risk Champions Network, advocating and educating best practice. Produce risk reporting as required for the SPPA Executive Team and Governance Boards Lead the ongoing management of risk appetite statements for each division in SPPA; influencing, liaising with, and advising other mangers and Executive Team members. Develop the SPPA approach to horizon scanning and understanding new and emerging risks, using key members of management, new technology and benchmarking with peers. Lead the development of the SPPA Counter Fraud Policy ensuring the agency has practices and processes in place to ensure compliance. Lead the ongoing development of and adherence to the SPPA Incident Management policies. Work with other senior managers to continually develop the policies in light of training and real time incidents. Ensure the management of incidents takes place in line with the SPPA Incident Management policies and reporting any risks or issues in relation to Incident Management to the relevant governance committees. Identifies lessons learned and disseminates learning through guidance and training sessions. Work with the SPPA Executive Team and the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) to agree the annual audit plan, ensuring individual business areas are ready for the audit and complete outstanding actions from previous audits. Provide quarterly updates to the ARC to report on progress on risk management and audit actions. Line management responsibility for a Risk Management Lead. Responsibilities Qualification: A professional risk qualification is desirable but not essential.
