Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust
Gwybodaeth
Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.
We serve an area that is rich in diversity, with a mix of urban and rural areas, and differing levels of quality of life. We cover some of the most prosperous postcodes in the country, as well as some poorer areas. Together with our colleagues at NHS Surrey and NHS Sutton and Merton, we work to make sure that we deliver the best possible care to the communities we serve.
The Trust employs approximately 5,000 staff across its hospitals and is supported by over 500 volunteers.

St Georges, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St Georges Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).
After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.

The South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre is an established surgical hub situated on the Epsom Hospital site. The Centre has a core workforce which is completely committed to the delivery of excellent treatment for patients undergoing elective surgery.
The Centre comprises six theatres which run six days a week, operating on approximately 6,000 patients per year, an Outpatients service and Pre-Assessment, which is undertaken digitally. Patients recover, post-surgery, in a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit and are then discharged home or taken to the ward for further care, if needed.
SWLEOC is a partnership organisation, made up of four trusts: Epsom and St Helier, St Georges, Kingston and Croydon. Patients come for surgery from across South West London and Surrey, but there are also many patients who come from a wider catchment area.
