The Factory Operative will support in the efficient and smooth running of factory production with particular attention being paid to quality. The main purpose of this role will be to work in a team to assemble timber components.
Primary Responsibilities
* Assembling timber frame components.
* Handling and using tools such as nail and staple guns, hand saws and chop saws.
* Cutting timber and board materials to size using appropriate cutting equipment.
* Operating pneumatic and electrical plant and equipment, including hand tools.
* Preparing frame and joist sub-assemblies.
* Cladding panels with sheet materials using semi-automated framing equipment and hand tools.
* Making wall panels using semi-automated framing equipment and hand tools
* Fitting metal joist hangers and other components using hand tools.
* Assembly of external and internal wall Panels and partitions including the assembly of floor cassettes.
* Fitting of breather membrane.
* Loading sub-assemblies into the automated line.
* Manufacturing timber frame panels on an automated production line.
* Using the crane to offload panels from the automated line.
* Carrying out day-to-day checks and maintenance of the equipment being used.
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
* Previous experience of timber frame background or have carpentry experience.
* Previous experience of using tools such as nail and staple guns with preferrable hand saw and chop saw experience.
* Previous experience of preparing frames and joist sub-assemblies
* Previous experience of a manufacturing or production environment and/or operating machinery would be advantageous.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
* Well organised with the ability to meet deadlines, driven, self-starting and be able to work independently and productively.
* Provide innovative ideas, and inputs to continually improve the processes/business.
