Job Summary:
To plan and complete long term and fiscal year marketing strategies for hardlines category. Be responsible for the marketing and account management of existing and/or new EMEA regional hardlines licensees.
With the Senior Marketing Manager, use key trends and consumer insights to develop and drive succinct strategies within DCP, whilst being agile to capitalise on the moment and support the category team on new opportunities and key licensees.
Responsible for working with licensees and retail teams to drive category marketing specific retail execution and initiatives (in-store POS, windows, digital, events, screenings, alignment opportunities) with key accounts, across all franchises, as well as category growth initiatives.
Relationships are key to the success of this role, both internally and externally. Actively manage and nurture the engagement, partnership and joint business planning with each licensee, new and existing, supporting the category team to drive and deliver strategic growth in licensing sales on behalf of the EMEA business.
This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, and will require you to be onsite 4 days a week in Hammersmith.
What You Will Do
1. Implement the long-term marketing strategy with the Senior Marketing Manager, for the Hardlines category and associated licensees in conjunction with category and franchise strategy teams
2. Manage day-to-day marketing relationship with key licensee marketing teams and provide category teams with support as and when needed across other growth licensees
3. Leverage macro and micro trends along with audience, category and retailer insights to craft more effective marketing campaigns for DCP, with maximum return on investment
4. Ensure all Signature Marketing campaigns in-scope are strategically aligned with the Hardlines category and licensee strategies (encouraging in knowledge and expertise to the Brand Marketing team)
5. Support Senior Marketing Manager and category team to pitch opportunities that improve the category growth in a meaningful manner improving the ‘white space’
6. Collaborate and develop positive relationships with local country DCP teams, providing information and regular marketing strategy and licensee updates as well as understanding and satisfying local market needs and differences
7. Work appropriately with the other managers within the regional marketing team to ensure Licensees are best championed across DCP Marketing Campaigns
8. Help effectively control allocated marketing budget secured through Annual Operating Plan
9. Work with licensee partners to unlock incremental funding / exposure of key products & campaigns
10. Share standard process and campaign analysis across regional, local and global teams
Required Qualifications & Skills
11. Ability to give both internal and agency creative teams clear direction and briefs, and manage feedback and approval process within relevant brand guidelines
12. Ability to analyse data and consumer insights, construct practical conclusions and implement recommendations to achieve business targets
13. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
14. Ability to influence and achieve consensus, and be flexible and adaptable with partners at all levels and regions of the organisation (Global, EMEA, local market)
15. Financial acumen - driving a P&L and quarterly forecasting process
16. Ability to understand and work within the legal and brand guidelines provided by the relevant department
17. Resilient and nimble in an ever changing landscape
18. Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote
19. Written and spoken English for business use, crucial; professional proficiency in another European language, beneficial
20. Skilled in recognising impactful creative, digital, social and brick and mortar hardlines marketing
21. Excellent strategic approach to problem solving and innovation
22. Outstanding planning and organisation skills
23. Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of local markets across EMEA
Preferred Qualifications
24. Degree level education in a related field or equivalent work experience
25. Marketing experience within consumer products commercialisation (ideally hardlines) and/or retail across EMEA. Experience in retail/shopper marketing advantageous
26. A strong understanding of omnichannel marketing campaigns including retail, experiential, social, digital, influencer and above the line marketing
27. Experience leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of innovative, outstanding hardlines marketing campaigns
28. Experience in pitching to B2B partners (ideally hardlines licensees) and retail partners
29. Proven experience of building effective relationships, leading and managing change and collaboration across departments to achieve financial targets and joint goals
30. Knowledge of trends within the category sectors with the ability to take industry trends and translate them into something that drives growth for The Walt Disney Company
