Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a National Legal 500 ranked firm in Manchester who are looking for a Construction Legal Director/Partner to join their team.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Lead and manage complex construction law matters, including project procurement, contracts, and disputes.
2. Provide strategic legal advice on construction projects, risk management, and dispute resolution.
3. Oversee and guide large-scale construction litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings.
4. Negotiate, draft, and review construction contracts, consultant appointments, and project-related documents.
5. Manage client relationships, ensuring high-quality service and effective communication throughout the lifecycle of construction projects.
6. Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, providing training and support in legal matters and career development.
7. Contribute to the firm's business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and enhancing the firm's profile.
The successful candidate:
1. Significant experience in construction law, including handling complex projects, contracts, and disputes.
2. Proven ability to lead teams, manage large projects, and mentor junior lawyers.
3. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic legal advice and support.
4. Track record of identifying new business opportunities and growing client networks.
5. Deep understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry-specific regulations.
6. Ability to offer practical and commercially sound legal advice that aligns with clients' business objectives.
7. Strong ability to work in collaboration with colleagues across various practice areas and locations.
8. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
