Sr. Marketing Manager, Books Subscriptions, Amazon Books

We are seeking a creative, data-driven, and results-oriented Books Subscriptions Marketing Manager to lead the strategic development and deployment of best-in-class marketing programs that engage readers and drive the long-term growth of the Japan Books business.
The successful candidate has a deep understanding of books culture and subscription programs in Japan. You will lead the development of creative, data-driven, and results-oriented marketing strategies to grow our reading subscription programs - Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading, and will be responsible for the end-to-end Go To Market (GTM) strategy for high-visibility product launches and feature releases. You will hold a high bar for execution and measurement, compile and analyze traffic and other web metrics, and report on performance to our senior management teams.
You are detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple projects, and work well across multiple teams including Product, UX Design, Worldwide Marketing, Vendor Managers, Legal, and Finance. You will have first-class written and verbal communication skills, and be comfortable negotiating with key business partners and global Amazon teams to gain alignment on marketing plans and ultimately manage all aspects of project execution. Candidates must be able to work with sensitive content, including culturally sensitive and adult content.
Key job responsibilities
1. Help grow our Reading subscription programs, including Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading, through marketing initiatives.
2. Develop and implement marketing strategies to acquire, retain and engage customers.
3. Provide strategic marketing inputs into product roadmaps.
4. Own customer touch points such as storefront, emails, and search.
5. Define and deliver analytics, metrics, and reporting for marketing initiatives working closely with the Business Intelligence team.
6. Support and continually improve the end-to-end on-site customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- 7+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners.
- Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint.
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese.
