An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to work in our Complex Disability Team. The post holder will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of children with a range of conditions. Children are seen in a variety of settings, including family homes and education settings, and therefore the ability to travel between settings is essential for this role. Staff may also be expected to work across the Children's service dependent on service need. Team-working is an important part of this role, and you will regularly work with other disciplines and services including social care and education. We have an excellent supervision and support structure, and you will receive a full induction on commencement of the post.
The successful applicant will have gained experience at band 5 level in core rotations and have some postgraduate experience of working in paediatrics and be familiar and confident with assessment and treatment of a full range of paediatric conditions.
Main duties of the job
* Assesses and treats own caseload of paediatric patients and maintains associated records.
* To have a responsibility for Training & Development of junior staff, students, and other staff groups in this speciality. Supervise less experienced staff, assistants, and students.
* Participates as a member of the therapy team and the MDT within a specified clinical area.
* Has a responsibility for own CPD and other developmental activities.
* Involvement in identifying and carrying out departmental audit, research, or service development activity in line with local and national guidelines.
* Participates in providing 7-day services and extended working day, as required by the service.

* Graduate Diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognised by HCPC (or student Occupational Therapist with qualification pending)
* HCPC registration
* Appropriate experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist
