Job Details:
1. Job Title: Hospital ACT Pharmacy Technician - Band 5
2. Location: London
3. Duration: 6 months minimum
4. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, 30 minute break
5. Start Date: October 2024
6. End Date: Ongoing
7. Rate of pay: £18ph - 24ph depending on experience

A Day in the Life of an ACT Pharmacy Technician:
As an ACT Pharmacy Technician, your main objective will be to ensure the timely and accurate checking of medications for the inpatient pharmacy department. Working collaboratively with the pharmacy team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining stock control, replenishing supplies, and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the dispensary. By fulfilling these objectives, you will contribute to the department's overarching goal of providing efficient, accurate, and safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Abide by GPHC standards of conduct, ethics, and performance, observing and applying all professional, ethical, and legal obligations.
2. Select, label, and dispense correct items in accordance with SOPs to ensure safe supply to patients under the supervision of the pharmacist.
3. Dispense, accuracy check, and conduct balance checks of controlled drugs.
4. Check the accuracy of inpatient prescriptions dispensed by other pharmacy staff, identifying and ensuring correction of all dispensing errors or items not acceptable to release.
Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Current and valid registration with the GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician.
2. Previous experience working as an ACT Pharmacy Technician.
3. Hold an NVQ L3 and BTEC certificate in pharmacy services or a recognised equivalent as defined by the GPHC.
4. Ability to communicate efficiently.
5. Ability to interpret prescriptions and dispense accurately.
6. Experience of using a pharmacy computer-based stock control and dispensing system.
Working Hours and Contract Duration:
This position will require you to work from Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, 30-minute break, but hours can be flexible. The contract is for 6 months minimum.
