Join our team at Queen's University Belfast as an Assistive Technology Coordinator (Disability).
Are you passionate about empowering students with disabilities through innovative technology? The Accessible Learning Support (formerly Disability Services) and Wellbeing Service Team seeks a dedicated coordinator to enhance an inclusive and accessible learning environment for students with disabilities at Queen’s.
The role involves providing specialist information, support, and advice to internal stakeholders on the development and implementation of assistive technology (AT). You will train students in the effective use of AT solutions to support their academic journeys and improve their learning and assessment experiences at Queen’s.
About the person:
They will have:
* A relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) with significant relevant experience, or an OCR/RSA Level 5 qualification for Teachers of Learners with SpLDs (or equivalent) with substantial relevant experience.
* Practical experience supporting users with assistive technology, including developing and delivering training in both one-to-one and group scenarios, and demonstrating a wide range of AT hardware and software.
* Experience assessing individuals with SpLDs for reasonable adjustments, preferably in a Further and/or Higher Education setting, developing support plans, generating equipment quotes, and writing detailed reports.
