The team…
The Resources and Digital Directorate operates at the very core of the Council's operations, working with services to deliver the Council priorities.
We are looking for someone to assist in the management of a comprehensive Payroll and HR Support Service across the Council and to external clients based throughout the country.
About the role….
We are looking for someone to assist the management and continuous improvement of the Payroll and HR Support Service ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and Council policies.
You will undertake employee supervision and assist in the identification of employee training and development needs whilst being responsible for the day-to-day operations of a team within Payroll and HR Support and to deputise for the Payroll and HR Support Manager when absent.
You will assist in the administering, control, and processing of salaries, wages, pensions, contract production, recruitment, DBS checks, and other Payroll/HR related matters in accordance with legislation and Council/customer policies, whilst identifying and implementing innovative solutions ensuring the service is continually evolving and improving providing best practice methodology and maximising the effectiveness of its systems.
You will represent the Council as and when required in respect of Payroll, Pensions, and HR Support issues.
You will assist in the gathering and assimilation of statistical information in relation to the service and undertake project management duties within the service or Council as required.
You will be required to develop strong customer relations and identify opportunities for further trading of the service and any other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade of the job.
